TSB Quarterly Review — Second quarter 2014-15

Chair's message

I am very honoured to have been selected to serve as the new TSB Chair. While excited about tackling this new challenge, I am also very mindful of the great responsibility and expectations it brings. I believe I can bring experience, continuity, and a passion for what we do.

The last quarter has been very busy, as usual. The report into the tragedy at Lac-Mégantic has been made public, and now we must push for the changes that still need to be made, changes that will improve rail safety across North America. Over the summer, the TSB also participated in Operation NANOOK 2014 in Iqaluit, which is an annual exercise organized by the Canadian Forces.

As the fall settles in, we will continue to provide a strong voice for change and strive for a safer transportation system from coast to coast to coast.
