TSB Quarterly Review — First quarter 2015-16
It has been a busy quarter at the Transportation Safety Board of Canada. Over the past three months, we released 10 investigation reports and have deployed to 22 new transportation occurrences across the country. We have also released four blog posts and 11 videos.
One particular highlight is the recently released report into the 2012 Perimeter Aviation accident in Sanikiluaq, Nunavut, in which a lap-held baby was killed in a survivable accident. We issued two important recommendations aimed at making air travel safer for infants and children, and we hope the regulator and industry will take action. We also hope families flying with small children inform themselves to ensure their children receive the same level of safety as adults.
As well, we released our annual re-assessments of active recommendations during this period, and our new-look Annual Report. We also presented our 2015 TSB annual awards where the outstanding contribution by employees was recognized.
I encourage you to read this Quarterly Review and share the TSB's recent accomplishments as we continue to celebrate our 25th Anniversary year.
